If you receive this error message:

  • Please ensure that you are logging into the account where you registered your games.
  • If you are certain you are logging into the correct account, please restart Steam by selecting File from the menu bar and clicking Change user...' (This will require you to re-enter your login and password - ensure that you have your login information available and that your current email address is linked to your Steam account)

If the issue persists:

  • Exit Steam by right-clicking the Steam icon in your systray and selecting Exit
  • Navigate to your Steam installation directory (by default this will be C:\Program Files\Steam or C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\)
  • Delete the ClientRegistry.blob file
  • Restart Steam and log in
