Using the Steam Backup Feature:da

Lav Backup filer

Følg venligst disse instruktioner for at lave en backup af dine kernespilfiler for at spare downloadtid når du geninstallerer Steam.

1. Højre-klik på det spil som du gerne vil backe op under Mine Spil (My Games) fanen.
2. Vælg Backup spil filer (Backup game files...)
3. Vælg boksne for alle andre spil som du også gerne vil backe op (det spil som du valgte til at starte med vil allerede være valgt)
4. Klik Næste > (Next >)
5. Vælg den mappe som du vil gemme dine backup filer i, i Backup destination(Backup destination) tekstfeltet. ( Filerne vil bliver gemt i c:\programmer\valve\steam\Backups som standart) og klik så på Næste > (Next >)
6. Backup processen vil automatisk lave en serie af backup filer navngivet med stigende numre efter Backupfil navnet som er skrevet - du kan sætte Fil størrelse (File size) hvis du planlægger at brænde backup filerne til en CD eller en DVD
7. Klik Næste > (Next >) for at begynde at arkivere dine spil filer.
8. Når arkiverings processen er færdig vil du blive præsenteret med en mulighed til at Åbne backup mappen hvis du vil flytte eller brænde kopier af dine backup filer.

Vigtigt

Backupper lavet med Steams backupfunktion vil ikke inkluderet nogle gemte spil, brugerlavet multiplayer baner eller konfigurations filer. Hvis du vil backe op din fulde installation (inklusiv brugerlavet indhold), så sikre dig at du har kopier af alle filerne i de følgende mapper under C:\Programmer\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\<brugernavn>\<spillets navn>\<spillets forkortet navn>\ mappen (for standart installationer):

• /cfg/ - Tilpasset konfiguration filer og scripts.
• /downloads/ - Brugerlavet indhold for multiplayer
• /maps/ - Brugerlavet baner som har blevet installeret eller downloaded under multiplayer

• /SAVE/ - Single-player gemte spil

Disse filer skal blive kopieret ind i de ovennævnte mapper på din nye installation, efter du har genskabt dit spils filer ved at bruge Steams backupfunktion.

Genopret fra Backupfiler

1. Installer Steam og log på din bruger for at sikre dig at du kan gennemføre geninstallations processen (se venligst Installer Steam hvis du vil have instruktioner på hvordan man installerer Steam)
2. Hvis backup filerne var kopieret til en CD eller DVD, vil steambackup.exe filen blive kørt automatisk når disken er sat ind i din computer - ellers, kør steambackup.exe filen (se instruktionerne forneden hvis du mangler steambackup.exe filen)
3. Steam backup vinduet vil åbne efter steambackup.exe er kørt - klik på linket for oven for at genskabe dit spils filer ved at åbne Restore backup Steam vinduet
4. Tjek boksene ud for de spil som du gerne vil genskabe og klik Næste > (Next >)
5. Tjek de start menu genvej eller skrivebords indstillinger som du vil bruge og klik Næste > (Next >)

Manglende steambackup.exe

Vi har modtaget rapporter om at, steambackup.exe filen ikke automatisk bliver inkluderet med backupfilerne, når man opretter backups med Steams backup funktion (dette kan også ske hvis steambackup.exe filen ikke automatisk bliver brændt til CD'en eller DVD'en når du kopier spillets backup filer).

Brug venligst den version af steambackup.exe som er lagret på vores support side (se linket for neden) for at gennemføre geninstallationsprocessen, hvis du ikke kan finde steambackup.exe filen sammen med dine backup filer.

Creating Backup Files

Please follow these instructions to create backups of your core game files to save downloading time when reinstalling Steam:

1. Right-click on the game which you would like to back up under the My Games tab
2. Select Backup game files...
3. Check the boxes for any other games which you would like to back up (the game which you initially selected will already be checked)
4. Click Next >
5. Enter the folder where you would like to store your backup files in the Backup destination field (the files will be stored in c:\program files\valve\steam\Backups by default) and click Next >
6. The backup process will automatically create a series of backup files named sequentially according to the Backup file name which is entered - you may set the File size if you plan on burning the backup files to CD or DVD
7. Click Next > to begin archiving your game files
8. Once the archival process has completed you will be presented with an option to Open backup folder if you would like to move or burn copies of your backup files

Important Note

Backups created using the Steam backup feature will not include any saved games, custom multiplayer maps, or configuration files. If you would like to back up your entire installation (including custom content), please ensure that you have copies of all the files in the following folders under the C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\<username>\<game name>\<abbreviated game name>\ path (for default installations):

• /cfg/ - Custom configurations and configuration scripts
• /downloads/ - Custom content for multiplayer games
• /maps/ - Custom maps which have been installed or downloaded during multiplayer games
• /materials/ - Custom textures and skins
• /SAVE/ - Single-player saved games

These files will need to be copied into the corresponding folders on your new installation after you have restored your game files using the Steam backup feature.

Restoring from Backup Files

1. Install Steam and log in to your account to ensure you will be able to complete the reinstallation process (please see the Installing Steam article if you need instructions to install Steam)
2. If the backup files were copied to a CD or DVD, the steambackup.exe file will run automatically when the disc is loaded on your machine - otherwise, run the steambackup.exe file (see the instructions below if you are missing the steambackup.exe file)
3. The Steam Backup window will load after steambackup.exe is run - click the top link to restore your game files to load the Restore backup Steam dialog
4. Check the boxes for the games which you would like to restore and click Next >
5. Check any start menu shortut or desktop options you would like to use and click Next >
6. Once the game installation process has been completed, click Finish to close the dialog and begin reinstalling any custom content which you may have saved

Missing steambackup.exe

We have received reports that the steambackup.exe file may not be automatically included with the backup files when creating backups using the Steam backup feature (this may also occur if the steambackup.exe file was not burned to CD or DVD when copying the game backup files).

Please use the copy of steambackup.exe hosted on our support site (see link below) to complete the reinstallation process if you cannot find the steambackup.exe file with your backup files.
