Steam Problem: Status for all games shows Pre-loaded when logging in to Steam

Steam Support will not request your Steam account password for any reason, nor will you ever be asked to enter your Steam account password into a website form.

Important Note

This issue will occur if you create a secondary Steam account while your games are registered to another account. If you are not certain whether you are logged in to the correct account, please see the Contacting VALVe Billing and Support topic for instructions to contact Steam Support for assistance.

If you are certain that you are logged in to the account which your games are registered to, please follow the recommendations below.

You will need your password to log back in to the account - please write down your password to ensure you will have it when you log back in.

  1. Exit Steam
  2. Navigate to your Steam installation directory: C:\Program files\Steam\ or C:\Program files\Valve\Steam (by default)
  3. Delete the ClientRegistry.blob file
  4. Restart Steam and log in
