Game performance is a combination of several components of the gameplay experience:

  • The rate at which the game loads when launched
  • The responsiveness of the keyboard, mouse, or other user input devices
  • The detail level of models and textures displayed in-game
  • The resolution, refresh rate, and frames per second or FPS of display the game is running at (these factors could be described as the visual sharpness and fluidity of movement)

Many aspects of the system running the game can impact game performance because performance involves the hardware and software environment the game is being run under.
