Steam Support will not request your Steam account password for any reason, nor will you ever be asked to enter your Steam account password into a website form. Game cache files (GCF's) store encoded game content after it has been downloaded through Steam. These files (by default) may be found in the SteamApps folder. Steam requires at least partial GCF content be downloaded for all single-player games (you can start playing as soon as sufficient content is downloaded to start the game). The full GCF file for a multiplayer game must be downloaded before playing, as a multiplayer game may require any one of the standard maps included in the GCF package. It is also worth noting that damaged or corrupted GCF files may interfere with gameplay. Related Topics |
