Steam Support will not request your Steam account password for any reason, nor will you ever be asked to enter your Steam account password into a website form.

A firewall is a type of software or firmware (in the case of a hardware firewall) which filters or blocks internet traffic on a machine or network.

Typical commercial firewall programs include:

  • Windows Firewall (enabled by default in Windows XP)
  • ZoneAlarm
  • Norton
  • McAfee
