Revert to 32-bit mode in Windows 64-bit

Please see the Setting Game Launch Options topic for instructions to use the -32bit launch option if you are using Windows XP 64-bit.

Start the DCOM Server Process Launcher Service

Please ensure that the DCOM Server Process Launcher service is started to correct this crash condition.

Go to the Start button and select Run...
Enter services.msc and click OK
Locate the DCOM Server Process Launcher Service and right-click, then select Properties
In the Startup type: drop-down menu ensure that Automatic is selected
Click Apply and then OK to save any changes

Repair or Re-register the WMI

If the issue persists after starting the DCOM Server Process Launcher please see the Repairing and Re-registering the WMI article for instructions to repair the Windows Management Instrumentation for your machine.

Important

Re-registering the WMI may revert some of your Windows profile settings - ensure any important profile settings are properly backed up prior to making any changes to the WMI.
