This happens if you own CZ and you play CS.

You will not be able to delete the GCF file to fix this, Steam will re-download that file.

If you really prefer the CS1.6 player models, the only method to fix this right now is to manually install the CS1.6 Skins externally to your counter-strike\cstrike\player folder, typically:

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\<account>\counter-strike\models\player

What you need to do is to download the CS1.6 Player Models that you want to replace and extract the model and put each one into it's own folder with exactly the same name.

The player folder will be there but probably there won't be any other subdirectories. You'll have to make them, the name must be exaclty the same as shown below.

There are 9 separate models, install each one into the models\player folder like this:

CS16_player_models.PNG

Here are the models. Download the ZIP file (linked below) if you want to download that particular model.

arctic.PNG gign.PNG gsg9.PNG guerilla.PNG leet.PNG sas.PNG terror.PNG urban.PNG vip.PNG

The next step is to install the pictures for these models.

You need to go create these two folders: cstrike\gfx\vgui

CS_old_model_pictures.PNG

Then download this zip with the 9 pictures and put them all in the vgui folder:

CS 1.6 Models
