De refresh rate (vernieuwingsfrequentie) instelling bepaalt hoe vaak uw scherm elke seconde belicht. Dit is anders dan frame rate per seconde (FPS) en wel zo dat de refresh rate ook de belichting van identieke frames meet, waar FPS alleen meet hoe vaak het scherm van het een naar het andere plaatje veranderd.

Volg de volgende stappen als u de refresh rate wil veranderen:

Klik met de rechtermuisknop op uw Windows bureaublad en selecteer Eigenschappen.
Klik daarna op Instellingen
Klik nu op Geavanceerd onderaan in het scherm
Op het tabblad Beeldscherm kunt u dan de vernieuwingsfrequentie van uw beeldscherm instellen door in het dropdownmenu uw frequentie te selecteren
Klik OK om uw instelling te testen

De VSYNC instelling bepaalt of Windows wel of niet toestaat dat uw spellen op een hoge frame rate (FPS) worden gespeeld dan uw refresh rate. (Als u VSYNC uitschakelt kunt u visuele "scheuren" en video artifacts ondervinden omdat u niet alle frames zal zien die wel gerenderd worden)

The refresh rate setting determines how many times your display is illuminated every second. This is distinct from the measure of frame rate per second (FPS) in that the refresh rate includes the repeated illumination of identical frames, while the FPS is a measure of how often a display can change from one image to another.

Please follow these steps if you would like to change the refresh rate for your display:

Right-click on the Windows desktop and select Properties
Select the Settings tab
Click the Advanced button near the bottom of the window
Select the Monitor tab and then pick a Screen refresh rate from the drop-down menu
Click OK to test your settings

The VSYNC setting determines whether or not Windows will allow your games and other applications to display different images at frame rate (FPS) which exceeds your refresh rate. (If you have disabled VSYNC you may experience visual "tearing" and video artifacts while playing, as you will not see all of the frames which are being rendered)
