The developer console allows you to enter commands in Source-engine games which are sent directly to the game engine.

The console is a text-based input/output interface to execute commands or change global settings in a game.

Enable the Console

  1. Launch Steam and run the game you would like to use the developer's console with
  2. From the main menu select Options
  3. Select the Keyboard tab
  4. Click the Advanced button
  5. Check the box next to Enable developer console (~)
  6. Click Apply

Once the developer's console option is enabled you will be able to use the ~ key or the F12 key to open the developer's console and type in commands to change game settings.
