Steam Problem: Persistent friend request from unknown

This issue is most commonly caused by a group or event invitation being sent to a user who has not opted in on the Steam Community beta.

You can resolve this issue by changing your Steam Community Beta participation status.

To change your status:

1. Go to the Steam File menu
2. Select Settings
3. Opt out of the Steam Community beta under the General tab
